 Interested in seeing the reflection of courage of ancient Indonesian sailors? Go to Kalimas Port is the answer. The Kalimas port is located in the North of Surabaya, the name is Kalimas Port. The port is 2.270 m length. The operated boats are mostly owned by traders and brokers who are selling and or purchasing goods.
In this place we can find a lot of porters to load and unload cargoes, and sometimes we still can see carts running and dragged by buffaloes to transport cargoes to warehouses.

 The heroes monument was constructed with 45 yards height, 3.1 lower diameter and 1.3 m upper diameter to symbolize the thrilling courage and bravery of Surabaya warriors to stop the attempt of allied forces to re-occupy Surabaya at the end of the World War II.
There are 8 relief featuring a serial histories of Surabaya in the frontage of the monument. They tell about the landing of Tar-Tar troops, the Dutch and Japanese invasions to Surabaya, the oppositions by Surabaya warriors and the condition of Surabaya to date.
The heroes monument is right in the center of the area and surrounded with beautifully designed gardens that make it look glorious. It displays some monumentally heavy killing machines used during the 10 November war in every single side of the gardens. |

 To see the spirit of holiness reflected from the relief of Four Faces Budha we can go to Pantai Kenjeran Baru. It’s only a few meters from Sanbu Sea side. It is said that this relief is the highest and the biggest in the world. The height is 9 meters, occupied on 225 square meter area.
In front of this relief, there is a Vihara, named Sanggar Agung. In this place we can find also a 20 meters height of relief of Avalokitesvara. |
